Changing Game Time in PE
Changing Game Time in PE

In PE, our daily routine includes activities in Flexibility, Strength, Cardio and Game Time.  During Flexibility we have an exercise routine to the song “Can’t Stop the Feeling”. Students get to utilize different cardio activities during the routine.  During Strength we practice different varieties of sit-ups and push-ups and during Cardio we do different activities to increase our heart rate (Song Running, Copy Cat, The Monkey, Cha-Cha Slide, 8 minute walk/jog/run, etc.). Game Time is the student’s most anticipated part of class, and is the time that we get the opportunity to play games and do fun activities.

This week during Game Time our activity was called Creative Stations. The students were able to select groups between 2-5 people and design and create an obstacle course/game/station with approximately 10 pieces of equipment that their group then participated in. Students were encouraged to use the equipment in different ways from their typical use. Students had to use one component of flexibility, strength or increased heart rate within their design and had to be able to explain which component was used and why. Students came up with an amazing variety of activities and had a blast all while getting out energy and exercising without even realizing it!
