On Friday, 22 fourth grade scientists from Ms. Lieber's class went to a kindergarten class to observe the types of energy that kindergarteners use during Fun Friday. Students had their security clearance badges ready as they took their indoor 'field trip' to room 303 in Mrs. Draper's class. Students recorded the types of energy they saw the students using and how they knew.
Observations included kindergarteners using mechanical energy to build houses and towers using leggos, sound energy to communicate in the kitchen area, electrical, light, and thermal energy were used as some of the students watched a movie. The fourth grade scientists finished off their scavenger hunt by walking up and down the hallways of the school to see what else they could find! Students made some great real world connections and saw the importance of energy use in our every day lives.
